Hello and welcome to Muir Group Housing
Founded in 1968, Muir Group is a charitable housing association
that provides high quality homes at affordable rents for those in
need. Their residents include families, single people, older people
and those in need of more specific care and support. From their
Chester head office to offices around the country, they manage
around 4,500 homes across England's North West, East and West
Midlands and parts of the South -And they're still growing.
They also have a highly-specialised subsidiary Friends of Muir
Group. Their purpose is to channel funding and resources into
projects that improve resident's quality of life and their
immediate environment.
In addition to the great working conditions available right
across the housing sector, Muir Group goes even further for their
people. All staff are fully encouraged to contribute and help shape
the association's future by getting involved in new initiatives
such as their summer holiday football coaching scheme. Part of a
planned programme of community development programmes, local kids
were more than happy to forego their usual park kick about for
professionally coached training sessions in a proper football
stadium. Community development is an important part of the Muir
approach. Their work is not just about providing affordable housing
for people in need. They believe in creating a real sense of
community for everyone.
Which is probably why they were profiled in the 2007/2008 Guide
to "The Best Companies to Work for in the UK" as 'one to
watch'.
