New Charter Housing Trust Group
Hello and welcome to the New Charter Housing Trust Group.
New Charter formed in 1999 as the new landlords to own and
manage homes transferred from Tameside council in Greater
Manchester. It is based in Ashton-under-Lyne. With a turnover of
£70million a year and a workforce of 880, New Charter is one of the
region’s largest registered providers of social housing, and is
regulated by the Tenant Services Authority, a Government watchdog.
It incorporates Gedling Homes in Nottinghamshire and Aksa Housing
Association in Oldham. The Group owns 18,600 homes, and was named
in the Sunday Times best 100 companies to work for in 2009.

Our mission is:
Great Homes - we have a wide selection of homes
to rent. Houses, flats, bungalows and sheltered housing are
available across Tameside, Oldham, Bury and Manchester, and almost
all have recently been improved.
Great Neighbourhoods - our belief in being iN
business for neighbourhoods means we take a much wider view of our
role in the community, with active and financial involvement in
activities as diverse as youth development and healthy living dance
classes for older residents. New Charter is the first housing
association in the country to sponsor an Academy, a new type of
school.

Great People - that's where you come in. We
offer a fantastic working environment, personal flexible benefits
packages, good pension arrangements and real commitment to training
and developing every one of our 800 staff. In return, we want you
to keep us at the top of tenant satisfaction. For the last two
years, we've headed the English league table of large landlords. At
93% satisfied, we still believe there's more to do!
New Charter, more than just housing
