Whitefriars Housing Group
Hello and Welcome to Whitefriars Housing Group.
Whitefriars is the biggest not-for-profit social housing and
regeneration organisation in Coventry. But with a comprehensive
support service covering all aspects their residents' lives,
they're about far more than just bricks and mortar - they create
safe communities. What's more, with £240 million already invested
in repairing and improving housing stock, they're well ahead in
meeting the Government's 'Decent Homes Standard'. It's what you'd
expect from one of the first housing associations to join the 'In
Business for Neighbourhoods' national drive to create better
English villages, towns and cities.
Delivering success is easier when you believe you can do
it.
It's a truly outstanding track-record. And for the reason why;
look no further than their unique culture. Or as Whitefriars call
it 'The Stardust Strategy' - a way of thinking
that inspires, motivates and equips everyone to make a real
difference to people's lives. 1001careers.com is pleased to say
that 'Stardust' isn't about rules and regulations. It's about doing
what feels right in any given situation. That might be buying a
bunch of flowers for a customer, popping in on a day-off to sort
out a tricky situation or simply giving someone a great big smile.
Whatever it takes to turn ordinary customer service into something
extraordinary, Whitefriars people do it.
Of course, all this good work doesn't go unnoticed. Managers are
encouraged to look out for star performers, and say 'thank you'
with a letter or a card - or maybe even a box of chocolates! Every
year there's a 'Stardust Conference' where they celebrate some of
the best success stories and present top performers with
awards.
'Stardust' also includes a whole host of other
benefits such as family friendly employment policies and final
salary pension schemes. There's far too much to include here. So,
please visit www.whitefriarshousing.co.uk to discover more.
Everyone is capable of being a star, and they get award-winning
training and development to be one.
Whitefriars have Investors in People (IiP) accreditation, and
they invested over £1 million into training and developing their
employees in their first five years alone.
More than 700 organisations from across the UK entered the
National Training Award competition. They beat 220 finalists from
25 industry sectors to take the top prize. Their training is so
special because it's had the 'Stardust' treatment too. They've made
it stimulating, engaging and above all fun, often using theatre to
dramatise situations and encourage their people.
Other national awards include:
- IiP Outstanding Good Practice Award 2004 - for 'Stardust
Strategy' cultural change approach
- IiP Outstanding Good Practice Award 2005 - for Customer Care
Training
- National Training Award 2005 - for innovative 'Face Values'
Equality and Diversity training
- Learning Skills Council Training Excellence Awards 2004, 2005
for their Modern Apprentice Scheme
It's extraordinary what you can achieve in the right
environment.
Whether customer service or staff benefits, they constantly
strive to improve the way they go about their business. So, to
provide a better service and deliver upon their promises, they've
created an atmosphere where everyone's ideas are welcomed. And all
of this is built upon universally shared values of:
- Openness
- Honesty
- Reliability
- Respect
- Innovation
- Empowerment
- Professionalism
At Whitefriars it's not just what you do that's important, it's
how you do it.
But don't just take 1001careers.com's word for it. When
inspected by the independent Government watchdog, they highlighted
the good work Whitefriars do. From tackling anti-social behaviour
to making sure that their offices and services are accessible to
all, service was described as 'good' with 'promising prospects for
improvement'.
Just bring a 'can do' attitude and join in!
